Ant-Man is an American superhero film from 2015 based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym. By April 2011, Wright and Cornish had completed three drafts of the script, and in July 2012, Wright shot test footage for the film. Pre-production began in October 2013 after being put on hold to allow Wright to complete The End of the World. Casting began in December 2013 when Rudd was hired to play Lang. In May 2014, Wright left the project due to creative differences, although he continued to receive the Cornish man's script and story. The following month, Reed was hired to replace Wright, while McKay was hired to co-write the script with Rudd. Filming took place from August to December 2014 in San Francisco and metro Atlanta.
